Pixel Patrol: Loupe

About this piece

Loupe is a young detective with red hair, freckles and a magnifier she points at everything, including the viewer. The study explores her pose, costume shapes and a full range of expressions.

The design leans on a clear silhouette — bob, coat, giant lens — so she stays readable at any size, from a full presentation down to a small dialog portrait.

Process

1. Sculpt the appeal first at high resolution, then rebuild clean surface layout for presentation.
2. Paint the surfaces by hand with soft baked shading the art style can actually show.
3. Verify readability at thumbnail size; shrink the portrait until it breaks, then fix it.
