Sunny, Morning Light

About this piece

Sunny is the atelier's mascot and lighting guinea pig: a cheerful cartoon girl with a chestnut bob, built to test a warm morning-light rig. Every new shader in the studio meets Sunny first — if she still looks friendly at 7am render settings, the shader ships.

Warm skin, a soft chestnut bob and a quiet smile establish the portrait. The light stays broad so the expression remains clear while the knitted fabric adds a second scale of detail.

Process

1. Block the head from spheres and lock the eye spacing before any detail goes in.
2. Shape the bob in soft interlocking sections, then carve the fringe rhythm with a fine detailing brush.
3. Paint skin in flat warm tones and bake a soft studio HDRI for the final turntable.
