About this piece

A ghost bride and a flame imp, painted as a duo study in opposites: cool drifting cloth against hot flickering edges. Wisp floats; Cinder bounces. Together they are a complete animation principle chart.

The painting exercise was contrast control — soft lost edges for the ghost, hard bright cores for the flame. Two characters, two rendering languages, one shared moonlight.

Process

1. Design the pair as one silhouette before separating them.
2. Reserve the brightest value for Cinder's core alone.
3. Let Wisp's edges dissolve; ghosts with outlines are just sheets.
